Good morning, and how are you today?

Conversations are interesting things.

Sometimes they flow freely, like a burbling brook or rushing river, urged forward by laughs and smiles. Sometimes the move slowly, like quiet waters passing over a deep pool, filled with wonderings and ponderings and almost silently shared thoughts. Other times they drip and trickle and splash laboriously across rocky stream beds- not quite full enough to stream smoothly by, and so forced to pause, take a deep breath, and leap from thought to thought.

Sometimes the words needed are evasive, like a bluebird flying away in the winter, or the thoughts dissolve before you've finished thinking them, like a snowflake on a fingertip. Sometimes there are too many thoughts and words, so many that there is no way to express them all, and it's better to wait and be silent for a bit. And sometimes they are in just the right place at the right time, waiting patiently for you to call their name and send them out, like a well organized parade.

Sometimes it seems that there are millions of unspoken conversations hovering behind a locked door, and if you could only find the key you'd discover a marvelous new world waiting on the other side. Oftentimes this key is carefully hidden away, dangling from a silver chain and tucked up in some secret place. It's a journey to find the key and an adventure once the door is open, and it takes more hard work and determination then you'd think- as journeys and adventures often do.

And sometimes, once the key is found, and the words stop flying away, and the thoughts all flow together, a simple conversation can become a cherished memory, or lead to a new perspective, or be the beginning of a bright friendship...
